Gavin Newsom: “Second Amendment is becoming a suicide pact”
California Gov. Gavin Newsom continues to push for tougher gun control legislation after the mass shooting at a dance hall in Monterey Park on Saturday. Newsom was quoting on Monday saying that the Second Amendment, “Is becoming a suicide pact”.
Following the Monterey Park mass shooting that left 11 dead, Newsom decried a fiery reaction on Monday’s “CBS Evening News.” Newsom told CBS’ Norah O’Donnell, “Nothing about this is surprising. Everything about this is infuriating” (CBS News).
Newsom suggested that the Second Amendment is a “suicide pact” while also noting that he had nothing against responsible gun owners that undergo background checks and training. Newsom continued by saying California will implement more gun control measures as the data supports that approach.
The authorities say the suspect who later died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound used a modified pistol with a high-capacity magazine illegal in California. Newsom was asked how the gunman was able to get the weapon in which he responded, “we will figure it out,” adding, “That’s going to happen. You got to enforce laws. Things fall through the cracks, but it doesn’t mean you give up” (CBS News).
Newsom also acknowledged in his interview with CBS that mental health plays a major role in these incidents, but progress in the area is slow due to “decades of neglect.”

It is the politics of people like Newsom who created the violence by their destruction of real morals to impose a dictatorship. Amendment 2 is about people being able to protect themselves and the “Left” has been undermining that for a LONG time. And Amendment 2 involves more than just guns. It protects the ownership of knives, swords, and ALL weapons.
