Drive-by shooting leaves 10 wounded in Lakeland, Florida
A drive-by shooting that occurred on Monday in Lakeland, Florida, left ten people wounded in an incident local officials say is rare in the area.
“This is something that doesn’t happen in Lakeland,” Lakeland Police Chief Sam Taylor told reporters in a press briefing. According to police, the shooting took place on Monday afternoon on a residential road where a group of people were gathered. According to eyewitnesses, the car slowed down alongside the crowd, and all four windows were rolled down before four gunmen opened fire from both sides of the vehicle.
The victims are all males ranging in age from 25 to 35 years old, according to Taylor. The motive for the shooting remains unknown and the perpetrators are still on the loose as of Tuesday evening. A manhunt is underway in central Florida to find the shooters as two victims remain in life-threatening condition and others heal from non-life threatening wounds. Taylor revealed there was marijuana found at the crime scene, but it is unclear whether drugs had any role in the shooting.
The shooting is one of 52 mass shootings that occurred in January alone, starting the year off at a much higher rate than last year, which saw under 40 mass shootings in January, according to the Gun Violence Archive.

One thing to remember is that as the border has been left open to allow the invaders and smugglers to enter the country this type of thing is expected to occur. Then add in the destruction of morals and this is more likely to occur.
