Lance Reddick passes away at age 60

Lance Reddick, who is known for his roles in The Wire and John Wick, has died aged 60.

A spokesperson for Reddick released a statement and said that he “passed away suddenly this morning from natural causes”

The statement went on to say “Lance will be greatly missed. Please respect his family’s privacy at this time.”

Wendell Pierce, who was Reddick’s co-star in The Wire, tweeted his condolences.

“A man of great strength and grace. As talented a musician as he was an actor. The epitome of class. A sudden unexpected sharp painful grief for our artistic family. An unimaginable suffering for his personal family and loved ones. Godspeed my friend. You made your mark here. RIP”

Others in the entertainment industry paid tribute to Reddick.

Filmmaker James Gunn said Reddick was an “an incredibly nice guy, and an incredibly talented actor” in a tweet.

Actor Michael Warburton said he was a “hell of an actor”.

Screenwriter BJ Colangelo tweeted that Reddick “improved every single project just by being there”.

Reddick had been penciled into a remake of “White Men Can’t Jump.”
