Independent journalist Laura Loomer confronted former FBI director James Comey at a book signing in Naperville, Illinois. Local police promptly detained her for an unspecified reason.

Laura Loomer tells her story

Laura Loomer essentially broke her own story at 7:56 p.m. CDT, shortly after the incident happened.

Cassandra McDonald at The Gateway Pundit then wrote about the incident and published it four minutes later.

Comey was in Naperville to promote a novel under his by-line, Central Park West. The signing took place at a local church at Ogden and Rickert streets, according to a local resident.

Loomer had bought two copies, intending to get his signatures on them – and to send one to General Michael Flynn and another to Roger Stone. Both have been targets of the FBI’s apparently politicized investigations of Donald Trump and his allies.

As Laura Loomer approached the signing table, she asked Comey “why a criminal is writing crime novels.” Comey left the stage at once. Not long after that, police arrived and took her away. No one, thus far, has said why.

Another local resident, representing himself as a lawyer and member of the Illinois Bar, offered his services.

General Flynn and Roger Stone both replied to her initial tweets. General Flynn’s tweet remains up.

But unaccountably, Roger Stone’s tweet is missing. The Twitter censors most likely removed it, and too quickly for the Wayback Machine to capture it. But Cassandra McDonald’s article still quotes the text, which reads: “Are you telling me big Jim Comey can’t handle little Laura Loomer?”

What is Comey’s novel about?

Comey’s novel, out on May 30 from Mysterious Press, has all the elements of a criminal conspiracy in New York. The apparent publisher’s blurb on Goodreads.com hints at a thinly-veiled reference to former Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.). But the fictional analogue to Cuomo turns up as a murder victim in a conspiracy involving organized crime.

According to McDonald, Laura Loomer confronted James Comey once before. That confrontation, Loomer shared to Truth Social on May 24 after the release of the Durham Report. The confrontation itself happened in 2018.

Now that John Durham has admitted that Russia Gate was a total HOAX, I want to remind everyone that 5 YEARS AGO, on the first day of disgraced former FBI Director James Comey’s book tour at Barnes and Noble in New York City, I confronted Comey with a list of questions about some of the former FBI Director’s unethical behavior.

I specifically asked him about the salacious Steele Dossier.

President Trump was 100% right to FIRE THAT DIRTY COP JAMES COMEY!!!! #WITCHHUNT #LockComeyUp

Update: Laura Loomer v. the Naperville Police Department

At 10:45 a.m. EDT Laura Loomer released this video of her encounter with James Comey and then with Naperville Police officers.

Then at 3:00 p.m. EDT the Naperville Police Department decided to dispute Laura Loomer’s account.

Needless to say, this did not satisfy.

At about 11:00 p.m. EDT, she published Comey’s book tour schedule and made a pithy observation of the precautions he now takes.
