Jim Jordan to try a third time October 20

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), candidate for Speaker of the House of Representatives, will seek a third vote Friday, October 20. Also, new evidence has surfaced implicating Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) in a scheme to deN.Y.-Jordan the Speakership. The scheme involves the scandal-ridden FTX company, and outright bribery of 13 of the 22 “no” votes from Wednesday’s vote.

Jim Jordan to try again

At 6:20 p.m. today (October 19), Christine Laila at The Gateway Pundit reported that Jim Jordan would ask Speaker pro tempore Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.) to call a third voting session of the House tomorrow. Jordan lost his second round yesterday, and today the Speaker pro tempore called the House to order, then adjourned it. But according to CNN, the House will vote tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. EDT.

Jordan apparently met with Reps. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) (the former Speaker), McHenry, and former Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.). Zeldin has in fact received some votes from the “noes,” though he is no longer a member. In fact, he received three votes – but Majority Leader Steve Scalise received seven.

Twenty-two Republicans voted “no” in yesterday’s round. Whether they are the only ones, is not clear. One of them – Rep. Carlos Giménez (R-Fla.) – insisted that no one changed his vote, and Jim Jordan should withdraw. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) said that earlier.

Jordan had been willing to support a resolution empowering McHenry to act as a regular Speaker until January 3, 2024. But Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) was having none of that.

By “special interest lobbyists,” Gaetz might have meant some unnamed lobbyists who allegedly have been meeting secretly with the holdouts and offering money and/or gifts for their continued holding-out. Steve Bannon, host of Bannon’s War Room, so alleged, citing his “spies.”

Further evidence

Further evidence emerged this evening at 7:15 p.m. EDT from one Erin Clements, in an exclusive to The Gateway Pundit. Clements cites an article in Breitbart by one Nick Gilbertson. These reports allege that Leader Scalise, despite voting for Jordan in both rounds, is actively undermining his candidacy. They cite Annie Grayer, correspondent for CNN:

That was two days ago. Nor was that all:

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) gave the nominating speech for the first-round vote.

However, for what it’s worth:

But that might not be worth the disk space to store the post. CNAV has reported before on the FTX scandal, and how Democrats and Republicans alike took FTX money. One of them: Speaker McCarthy, who used the FTX donations to target Freedom Caucus/MAGA Republicans.

Another, according to Ryan Salame, former CEO of FTX: none other than Steve Scalise. Plus thirteen of the twenty-two holdouts on record as voting against Jordan. They are:

  • Kay Granger (Texas-12th),
  • Mike Simpson (Idaho-2nd),
  • Carlos Giménez (Fla.-28th),
  • Jen Kiggans (Va.-2nd) (entry: “Captain Higgins for Congress”,
  • Marionnette Miller-Meeks (Iowa-2nd),
  • Mike Lawler (N.Y.-17th),
  • Steve Womack (Ark.-3rd),
  • Mike Kelly (Pa.-16th),
  • Mario Diaz-Balart (Fla.-26th),
  • Linda Chavez-Deremer (Ore.-5th),
  • Andrew Garbarino (N.Y.-2nd)
  • Tony Gonzales (Texas-23rd), and
  • John Rutherford (Fla.-5th)

Miller-Meeks is the loudest complainer about “credible death threats” against her life.

Donor mules

Note that two Representatives Higgins exist in the House – one Republican, one Democrat. Lousiana’s Clay Higgins voted for Jordan; New York’s Brian Higgins voted for Jeffries.

These thirteen have received direct contributions from FTX, which the law does not allow. But Steve Scalise is already known to receive donations from unwitting senior citizens – often 98 per person per day. James O’Keefe, after Project Veritas bounced him, founded another investigative-journalism company and started investigating this very kind of thing: senior citizens listed as having given money they never knew they gave. Erin Clements claims to be still checking the records, not only on Scalise but on all twenty-two known holdouts.
