Tim Scott out of Presidential race

Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) last night withdrew from the Republican Presidential Primary race, citing clear signals of lack of support.

Tim Scott withdraws

Tim Scott announced the “suspension” of his campaign to Trey Gowdy on the latter’s Fox News Sunday Night show.

As Mary Lou Masters reported at The Daily Caller, Scott said that voters were “telling [him], ‘not now, Tim.’” He does not seem ready to endorse another candidate still in the race.

John Solomon at Just the News said the same. He also pointed out that Tim Scott has been polling only in single digits and is raising less money. But he mainly cited the commanding lead of former President Donald J. Trump over all other contenders.

Trump has refused to take part in any of the Presidential debates, saying publicly that he wouldn’t waste his time.

According to Christine Laila at The Gateway Pundit, Scott’s support started flagging when Tucker Carlson made clear Scott’s support for continuing U.S. involvement in the Russia-Ukraine war. Roger “DC Draino” O’Hanley called Scott out on this:

Scott had planned to take part in Iowa Family Leader’s Thanksgiving Forum on November 17. He, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.), and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy had all said they would attend. The organizers had also invited Amb. Nikki Haley and President Donald Trump, neither of whom had responded. They still list Scott as an invitee, but whether that still stands, is not clear.
