Biden got more judges through than Trump

“Resident” Joe Biden recently outpaced Donald Trump in one area in which he should not have been able. He has successfully appointed 200 Federal judges, outshining Trump with his 196 judges. That reflects Republicans returning to pre-Bork days and showing Presidential deference in the Senate.

Biden gets his judges through

Alicia Powe, in a special to The Gateway Pundit, told the tale today. Biden announced his 200th confirmed Federal judge last Wednesday (May 22). As the usual form requires, Biden emphasized the “impartiality” of how he expect his appointees to apply the law. But the White House posted to X some statistics obviously intended to signal virtue to the Woke crowd.

These statistics include:

  • 64 percent female,
  • 62 percent nonwhite,
  • More Black women confirmed to Circuit Courts of Appeals than under all previous administrations combined, and
  • More Asian-American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islanders confirmed than under any individual administration.

These other statistics might or might not be significant:

  • 40 judges having joined the bench from the criminal defense bar,
  • 25 judges from the civil-rights bar, and
  • At least nine from the labor-relations bar.

One user blasted this thread, pointing out the total lack of discussion of these judges’ academic or judicial records.

Another pointed out that those DEI-style statistics shouldn’t matter, if Justice is truly blind.

In fact, reaction to the announcement was almost uniformly negative. X users chose to criticize on both these grounds, and on the grounds of Biden’s own lack of qualifications.

Where is the Senate?

But so far, no one – not even Ms. Powe – is talking about where the Senate has been. To be sure, part of the problem is that the Senate’s rules provide for near-automatic cloture beyond a certain interval. That is to say, no filibustering. But that goes to show the sorry composition of the Senate today. That they would even confirm a nominee like Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court – after she declared she did not know what a woman was – should have given the first clue. Since she joined the Court, she has broken Court etiquette and decorum almost as often as Sonia Sotomayor has.

For all this, blame:

  • Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), the (mercifully) now out-going Republican Floor Leader, and
  • Ronna McDaniel, who ran the 2022 Midterms to fail.

“Judges matter,” boasted Biden. Senators matter, also. Every American must remember that this fall.
