Kamala Harris already losing her appeal
Vice-President Kamala Harris is already losing what appeal she had to voters – and Democratic donors knew that would happen weeks ago.
Vice-President Kamala Harris had a nine-day honeymoon after her boss dropped out of the race. Some are now remembering that the Democratic “Big Boys” were afraid of that after Biden’s disastrous debate. Now the proof has come in, and no one can deny it any longer. This doesn’t quite mean that Donald Trump can ignore her, for her policy proposals are even less attractive than the woman herself. But it does mean Republicans will have no excuses if they lose this race.
Harris gives a rally and people walk out
Yesterday evening, Harris held a rally in Atlanta, Georgia. She was late to her own rally, causing what some called an awkward moment.
But that wasn’t the worst of it. As it turned out, most rally goers came long enough to watch her headliners, Megan Thee Stallion and Quavo, give a free concert.
Fifteen minutes after Harris finally showed up and began speaking, attendees were walking out.
In fact she didn’t speak long – thirty minutes by some accounts. Christina Laila of The Gateway Pundit covered it. The subject matter – the real meat for the Trump campaign’s meat grinder – was her pledge to confiscate firearms. Of course no President dares order every citizen or resident to march down to their local police precinct or sheriff’s station and deposit their guns in a box, like a surrendering army. Instead she promised “universal background checks, red flag laws, and an assault weapons ban.”
And if Congress won’t pass those in the first 100 days, she will take executive action! What kind of action she thinks she can take, she didn’t say. In any case, the RNC Research account had already warned people ahead of time that Harris said this before.
Still, nothing can cover the embarrassment that her rally goers came only for the free concert, then left.
A nasty reputation
That’s only the latest in a long line of embarrassments. On Sunday (July 28) MSNBC held a focus group of black men, according to Town Hall. All reported that they knew someone who would vote for Trump – and Harris replacing Biden doesn’t change that.
The next day, host Peter Schweitzer shared a link to an article in The Union from five years ago. According to it, interns working for Harris when she was Attorney General of California were not allowed to look her in the eye.
Schweitzer did not mention that, as Attorney General, she expected her staff to rise for her as she came in, saying, “Good morning, General.” Bear in mind that the original author, an editorial board member at The Union, supports Harris. Nevertheless, to quote him:
[H]ow she treats her staff is as important as an individual’s legislative accomplishments. A person’s character is probably one of the most important attributes for someone wanting to obtain the office of President.
The author said that while she was seeking the 2020 Democratic nomination.
Yesterday, the O’Keefe Media Group (OMG) broke an undercover video of a manager at the Democratic National Committee. This manager evidently gives Harris little chance of winning.
Key points from this long-form post include:
- Harris has no “accomplishments to speak of,” and is “weirdly unpopular” with voters.
- The DNC tells donors what they want to hear, not the truth.
- The DNC fuels the fantasies of the donors, fantasies those donors want to believe – so they don’t question the platitudes.
Questioning the hype
But one person is questioning the hype: Joe Rogan. Recently he had a guest named Michael Malice on his program. In that interview Rogan mentioned that one cannot find a negative story about Harris on the Google search engine. He also asked why the Democrats push her, when Tulsi Gabbard, a much stronger woman, is available.
Michael Malice answered very simply: “Because she’s not for war.”
(Not that a Harris administration would be prepared to go on any more overseas adventures. The RAND Corporation recently reported that the U.S. military are not meeting their recruitment goals and are seriously understrength. John Mills, writing in The Gateway Pundit, gave a damning summary.)
Breitbart reported yesterday that Democrats have expressed concern about the Presidential race. The Vice-President has the base, but the base is not the majority. Democrats worry especially about who will carry Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin – the Blue Wall. If Trump carries any of them, let alone more than one, he almost certainly wins. At present he’s leading in Michigan and Pennsylvania and tied in Wisconsin. Democrats speak of “expand[ing] the coalition,” thus admitting that their coalition is not large enough today. Her recent denial of seeking a fracking ban is part of “coalition expansion.” But the Executive Director of Consumers’ Research (the conservative alternative to Consumers’ Union, publishers of Consumer Reports) warns people not to let Harris fool them.
Fracking, by the way, has helped Pennsylvania rebuild its economy – no thanks to Obama or Biden.
Trump is beating Harris handily
Wayne Allen Root, Assistant Editor of The Gateway Pundit, predicts Trump will win in a “landslide.” He accuses polls that have Harris winning, are oversampling Democrats by ridiculous margins. In contrast, the Democracy Institute, which oversamples Democrats by a modest +2 percent, shows Trump winning by 8 percent.
Furthermore, Democrats were afraid of that, and have been afraid of that. On July 3, Semafor released this report of a “private call” with the Democrats’ Big Boys. On that call, James Carville was asking for “a different choice.” He suggested that the Big Boys cut off money until Biden left the race (which is exactly what they did). The only problem was, Kamala Harris was even less popular with swing voters than Biden was. They knew this – but pushed Biden out anyway. The reason: Dmitri Mehlhorn (adviser to LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman) actually believes another part of the Democratic hype.
Vice President Harris is a badass. A ticket with her at the top, combined with someone who balances her brand weaknesses (examples range from Mark Kelly to Andy Beshear to Roy Cooper to Josh Shapiro and many others), would absolutely be competitive with the criminally insane convicted felon the other side is committed to nominating.
Gospodin Mehlhorn might want to reevaluate by now – and if he doesn’t, he is insane – though not necessarily criminally.
He might have company in the insanity department. Sen. Charles M. Schumer (D-N.Y.) actually tried encouraging Trump to dump his running mate, Sen. J. D. Vance (R-Ohio). He actually said that on CBS’ Face the Nation Sunday, and encouraged Senate Democrats to campaign “closely” with Harris.
On the question of children
MSNBC’s Morning Joe program followed up on Vance’ 2021 interview with Tucker Carlson (the “childless cat ladies” segment). Host Jonathan Lemire suggested Vance would alienate childless voters, who make up a greater portion of the electorate. That’s when Molly Jong-Fast said Vance’ “natalism” reflected a desire for “more white children.”
Never mind that Vance married an Indian woman, and the couple has three children, who by definition are biracial. Never mind, either, that Lemire and Jong-Fast are playing into the hands of an elite that wants a depopulated planet.
Then again, consider the universal fallback of the Harris campaign (which still has no Vice-Presidential running mate). They’ve taken to high-school-level and even middle-school-level name-calling. Their favorite epithet is the word weird, which is something the C students used to call the straight A students. It has also been a name counter-culturists throw at those who follow tradition – and the Ten Commandments. More to the point, the party that actively encourages people not to have children, is a party of overgrown children.
Worth noting, and repeating: Kamala Harris is the first Presidential candidate who has actually supported defunding the police. She verbally supported and condoned the lawlessnesws and rioting during the 2020 “Summer of Love.” She also supported a ban on fracking, which will not play in Pennsylvania. Her denials today are worthless – because if they are genuine, they represent a betrayal of her base.
One last thing
This morning, Paul Ingrassia summed up Kamala Harris and her campaign in a brutal essay. He emphasizes her incompetence – though on the border issue, that might not be incompetence at all, but malicious mischief. More to the point he exhorts Republicans not to surrender before the first shot is fired. But he also gave this warning:
[I]nevitably [will come] the day where we will need to actively thwart the Left’s attempt to steal another election, in courts of law and at polling places, to ensure that our rightful president gets the second administration he deserves.
It will be much easier, if the day comes, for a court to review evidence of election fraud if the Right has not adopted the Left’s perspective, as many parts did in 2020, and retains steadfast in its commitment to truth, rather than have doubts and entertain the notion that a Kamala presidency was even for the slightest moment within the realm of possibility.
In other words: the law offices of Dewey, Cheetham and Howe (with apologies to Tom and Ray Magliozzi, also known as the Tappet Brothers, original hosts of Car Talk) cannot win unless Trump’s base lets them.
