Obama’s spellbinding speech
If you watched Barack Obama’s speech on Thursday night, you may have noticed how his mediocre words affected those who watched it. I saw tears streaming from eyes – as if they were in the presence of greatness. How does he do it? How does he manage to mesmerize his followers without saying anything? He isn’t the first to yield this kind of power with his words. As I recall, a certain German Chancellor, who became Führer, knew a few things about how to mesmerize an audience.
A speech full of lies
No argument that our Liar in Chief was at his best on Thursday night. He delivered an outrageously inaccurate speech and had people swooning at every word. Didn’t anybody actually hear anything he said? I couldn’t help but jot down a few interesting notes. For instance, I didn’t know that Islam was responsible for the Renaissance of the 14th – 17th centuries. As an Italian, I had to take a few minutes to look this up. Unless you go to sites like Jesusneverexisted.com, or other such revisionist (and Islamic) resources, you will find that the only contribution the Muslims made to the Renaissance were forcing the Greek scholars to move to Italy after they conquered Constantinople in 1453. Mr. Obama, always advocating for Islam, also told us that Islam stood for Civil Rights. I guess the Civil Rights of women don’t count. Of course he directed NASA to glorify the Muslim’s contributions to science and to heck with the rest of NASA’s program.
But what about his involvement in Egypt or Libya? Doesn’t that prove he’s committed to America? Hasn’t anyone noticed that those revolutions were orchestrated by the Muslim Brotherhood? Of course he refuses to send aid to the Iranian or Syrian revolutionaries who are actually fighting against oppression and are not part of the Muslim Brotherhood.
What about the details he said he would give that Romney didn’t? I was flabbergasted when he said he was unlike Romney and would give us details about how he intended to end the war in Afghanistan. I was flabbergasted because that was all he said about Afghanistan. Wasn’t anybody listening? Where were the details? Did the teleprompter delete them somehow?
A friend to the middle class?
Of course that speech painted him as a friend to the middle class. Is that the same middle class that is earning 4% less than they did 3 ½ years ago – at least they are if they are still working? What about his Affordable Healthcare plan that costs every working American an additional 3%? Or how about his financial plan? Did that include his budget that absolutely nobody in the House or Senate (not even the Democrats) voted to approve?
In his speech he repeatedly accused the Republicans of wanting to take us backward. Well, maybe that’s not such a bad place to be. Under Governor Romney in Massachusetts, the unemployment statistics showed that the state was almost at full employment. I’d go back to that in a New York minute, and I’d bet the nearly 25,000,000 unemployed, and the underemployed, and those who have given up looking for work wouldn’t mind going back to that either.
So why did Obama get everybody so pumped up at the Convention? Maybe it’s because he couldn’t get them thinking. If they did, they might be crying – but not because he was so great, but because they had been so misguided.

Republicans Should Use Article 5 To Protect Our Institutions
Will this be the party line should Obama win?
That Obama only won because he’s a hypnotist?
No, it will be that even the most wrongheaded ideas win out, if they’re the only ideas anybody hears.
I hear an Obama speech and wonder if I’ve somehow been transported to another planet. Once I saw an “Elvis impersonator” perform in a little bar in Plymouth, Michigan….and saw women standing and watching with sighs and tears rolling from their eyes with the exact same amazement…..like some fantasy must have been playing in their heads…and this guy wasn’t even the real deal. Obama talked a great game…and folks bought it sure enough…and delivered NOTHING…..and here we are, expected to try to believe that “The One” actually did something more than shove the whole country deeper in the hole. Amazing.
