Abortion endpoint: more proof
Last week, a senior Planned Parenthood medical officer fell to a “sting” about trafficking in intact tissue from abortion. The head of Planned Parenthood moved quickly to suggest only this officer even said anything amiss. (She did not admit this officer did anything wrong.) This morning the Center for Medical Progress released a second video. They caught another officer talking blithely about profiting from abortion, other than through doing it.
In so doing, the CMP caught Planned Parenthood out in a big lie. But they also embarrassed the mainstream media, the White House, the Democratic Caucuses of the House and Senate, and anyone else who supports abortion. The world waited for any of those people to express outrage. Instead, the world heard crickets.
The latest abortion profiteering video
For this video the CMP sent two undercover agents to see Mary Gatter. She serves as President of the Medical Directors’ Council, Planned Parenthood Federation of America. You can play the video below this article. Ironically, Cecile Richards, head of PPFA, introduces the video. She denies what CMP alleged from the first. Then Dr. Gatter appears, and undoes all Ms. Richards’ work.
Dr. Gatter says several damning things. She starts to haggle at once, asking the agents to make her an offer. She speaks of “low-ball” offers. The agents ask specifically for “intact specimens.” Dr. Gatter first quotes $75 each. The agent offers $100 each. Dr. Gatter accepts that, but only as a baseline. She then speaks of consulting with other officers under her, and surveying other facilities to see what revenues they can get.
(At this point, Dr. Gatter makes a bad joke. “I want a Lamborghini,” she says. One may safely assume anyone who can drive an automobile, would love to drive a high-performance sporty model, like any from the Lamborghini line. Could she personally net enough cash from these abortion tissue buys to buy a car like that? The video dialog does not give enough raw numbers to calculate that. But that she would make such a joke, and smile when she said that, speaks volumes. People everywhere suspect American doctors have mercenary motives. This one clearly does.)
She also says something even more damning. She admits Planned Parenthood always tells its patients they treat them no differently from any other doctor. She refers to the usual abortion operation: suction curettage. That involves dilating the cervix and passing a sharp-edged tube, called a curette, with a vacuum hose attached. The suction machine, in essence an oversized vacuum cleaner, collects the unborn child and the placenta in a tissue trap. This writer has “accessioned” and “processed” such tissue traps often in a surgical pathology laboratory. A pathologist “grossly examines” the contents of the trap, looking for some part of the unborn child, the placenta, or both he can identify positively.
Suction curettage collects all the tissues in a pile and purées it. To get an “intact specimen,” one must vacuum out the unborn child and the afterbirth by hand. To do that one uses a manual vacuum aspirator that works strictly on hand muscle power. (Dr. Gatter uses the name Ipas. That name usually refers to a “non-government organization” that advocates for abortion “rights” worldwide. Here it refers to a particular model of hand-held vacuum cleaner for the womb.)
The problem: using a hand-held vacuum cleaner, departs from the standard way to do abortion. Dr. Gatter realizes this could cause a legal problem. In fact, under the law (42 U.S.C. 289g-1), an abortion doctor may not choose his or her methods solely to collect tissue. Dr. Gatter then dismisses the argument as “specious.”
In short, CMP caught Dr. Gatter in flagrante delicto willing to break the law on two counts: to do an abortion in a non-standard way to collect tissue, and to profit from collecting it.
The CMP recorded this video, and the earlier one, as part of their “Human Capital Project.” In fact they’ve been looking into Planned Parenthood and its abortion mills for two and a half years. How many other videos have they, ready to release? One can only guess.
The Democrats still defend abortion
Gary DeMar at Godfather Politics quickly condemned the practice. He also condemned Democratic Party politicians for refusing to condemn it themselves. In fact, Sarah Fettis at The Hill wrote about this a week ago. The Democrats, she says, defended Planned Parenthood. Rep. Scott Peters (D-Calif.) compared the scandal over the first video to the Benghazi Affair. Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) accused a mysterious “they” of “attacking Planned Parenthood for years.” (The CMP worked this case for two and a half years. But somehow CNAV senses Rep. Lee meant to speak of all who oppose abortion, not merely the CMP.)
The problem: Planned Parenthood gets federal funds. The law says they may not use those funds to run their abortion mills. But money is fungible. Any check the government cuts to Planned Parenthood frees up other money they may use to run their abortion mills. And abortion brings in more revenue to Planned Parenthood than any other thing they do.
In fact, Planned Parenthood began with the mission to abort as many children of “inferior races” as possible. Margaret Sanger, the founder, made herself crystal clear on that point.
And from the mainstream media? Crickets. Only Fox News Channel have reported on the scandal at all. (Even they let their likely hatchet job on their ex-contributor Donald Trump distract them.) Likewise, from our alien President, Barack Obama: crickets. (Of course, crickets. He said he would not “punish” either of his daughters “with a baby” for having a little fling.)
What kind of country have we become, that any elected official would tolerate, much less defend, acts of this kind? CNAV and others criticize Barack Obama all the time for acting above the law. Clearly many prominent Democrats in Congress don’t hold the law in any higher regard than does he. They won’t even enforce it. Not against a doctor who illegally changes the way he does an abortion to get “intact specimens.” Not against Planned Parenthood for illegally profiting from collecting human tissue. And not against anyone who does what they either want done, or what they feel people should have a “right” to do.
CMP have already released enough video evidence to convict at least two Planned Parenthood officers of conspiracy to break several laws. They arguably have enough on Planned Parenthood to charge them as a continuing criminal enterprise under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. Congress should at least deny all funding to that organization. Any Attorney General of conscience would prepare to arrest their president-general and her entire staff on a RICO charge. But this will not happen. American society has jaded itself too thoroughly for that.
