I often wrestle with a plethora of topics when I sit down to write – all worthy of commentary – all disturbing – all frustrating – and all defying logic. However, today (April 12, 2016) was different. The news of the GOP elitists in Colorado disenfranchising the votes of their own constituents dominated my thought process. How could this be happening in America – the land of the free – the land of representative government? The answer to that is most disturbing. Our Constitutional Republic that was based on the representation of its sovereign citizens has transformed into a Banana Republic right before our very eyes. And the sovereignty we once enjoyed has now been usurped by an oligarchy that pretends to represent our best interests. After all, surely they know better than us peons. Haven’t they run the country well? Isn’t our economy thriving? Aren’t our veterans cared for? Doesn’t the rest of the world admire and respect us? That’s what they would have us think, but unfortunately for them, we can still think.

GOP descends to self-parody

There have been signs that the once Grand Old Party of Lincoln has devolved into an oligarchy composed of political elitists whose only interest is protecting the security of their elitist positions. Now-a-days they are so in control that their pretense of self-government by the people barely deserves the perpetuation of the smoke and mirrors they usually employ. The recent actions of the GOP in Colorado have exposed their charade and irrefutably revealed their political parody. The seeds of this revelation were planted last August when the Republican Party machine in Colorado decided that they would not let voters take part in the early nomination process. Isn’t that nice? A political party that would be worthy of the admiration of Lenin himself have now empowered themselves to be able to decide whether or not voters can vote. And those in the Cruz camp who have benefited from this parody of republicanism dare to argue: those are the rules, deal with it.

But the GOP changed the rules, Ted

At that time the Denver Post reported: “The GOP executive committee has voted to cancel the traditional presidential preference poll after the national party changed its rules to require a state’s delegates to support the candidate that wins the caucus vote.” In other words, these establishment hacks did not want to be bound by the will of their constituents. Ryan Call, former GOP chairman told the paper: “It takes Colorado completely off the map in the primary season.” In February, the Post further reported: “GOP leaders have never provided a satisfactory reason for forgoing a presidential preference poll, although party chairman Steve House suggested on radio at one point that too many Republicans would otherwise flock to their local caucus.” What? “Too many Republicans” voting is not a good thing? So when these party hacks pledged their support to the establishment’s darling du jour, Senator Cruz, of course Trump had something to say about this. He tweeted: “The people of Colorado had their vote taken away from them by the phony politicians. Biggest story in politics. This will not be allowed!” But this is bigger than who the Colorado cabal supports. It is an affront to the spirit of Republicanism and a feather in the cap of communistic principles. In such a resultant government, you have a choice but your choice is controlled. In other words, you can vote for X or Y, but we (the oligarchy) decides who X or Y is.

I wish Trump was right. I wish this would not be allowed. However, the dutiful compliance of the low-information voter may prevail as it has in the past. God help us. It may be time to change our national anthem from The Star Spangled Banner to the Banana Boat song, for our political will seems just as devoid of meaningful content. In order for freedom to continue in America, the brave must triumph. And in order for the brave to triumph, the brave must be engaged in the existing battle.

Ask Ron Paul

Yes, there is something rotten in Denver, but Denver is only the most obvious seat of cabalists. The ugly head of this beast was first exposed when delegates that should have gone to Ron Paul in the past were ostracized and disenfranchised, along with all they represented. And still, many of us did not speak up because we were not supporters of Congressman Paul. We’ve gotten our just desserts. Yesterday, Ron Paul; today, Donald Trump. Who knows who it will be tomorrow. If this is allowed to continue, there is one thing you can be sure of – there will be a tomorrow.

So, to the good people of Colorado I say: 1. be sure you have poll challengers at every poll; and 2. purge the State of those posing as your representatives ASAP. And to the good people of America, those that still cling to their Bibles and their guns, I say – the time to speak up is now, for surely tomorrow may require that you speak up with something other than your vote or your voice. Winston Churchill put it best when he said, “If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.” This is the time to fight without bloodshed but that time is quickly slipping away. Although this battle can possibly be won by simply overwhelming the polls in November, other battles may require more.

Which is more important?

I was born free, my children were born free, and I pray that my grandchildren and their children to follow will live in a nation where they are not enslaved by any oligarchy, monarchy, or tyrant. But that prayer is close to being denied because unlike the cabalists in Colorado – God is a God who allows choice, as He did in the Garden. And I fear that our fellow Cruz supporters who should be joining with us in this fight for representative government have been beguiled by constitutional credentials similar to that of the man now occupying the White House. Both being acclaimed constitutional scholars; both knowing where the loopholes lie. They fail to understand as our Founders did when they protected our right of freedom of religion, that by protecting the rights of others they were protecting their own rights. They fail to understand that by allowing cabals to usurp our sovereignty today because they support the candidate of their choice, they are jeopardizing our representative government. Surely, surely this short-sightedness is perhaps the most destructive blindness ever imposed on the American people. May God open their eyes and may they be able to see beyond their own preferences to what the future of America will look like if this is allowed to continue. This is a watershed moment. By the grace of God, may it not turn into a catastrophic tsunami that destroys Republicanism.
