Obama still President – what’s that?
Is Barack H. Obama the shadow President of the United States? A recent faux pas by White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki (pronounced Sackey) suggests so.
Enjoys working for President Obama?
Jen Psaki appeared yesterday morning on ABC’s The View – virtually, of course, as is her custom (and theirs). During that interview, Joy Behar asked about rumors that Jen Psaki would shortly leave her post. In reply, Jen Psaki said this:
I don’t know when I’m leaving. This is an honor and a privilege and I love working for President Obam- ah, President Biden.
One can hear her very clearly referring to a “President Obama,” catching herself, then correcting herself.
First to pick up on this slip-up was The Daily Mail. That news organ features photographs of her and her two children in the White House during the Obama years. They also picked up on this “advice” she gave for coping with frustration after the two Democrat voting-rights bills failed.
So my advice to everyone out there who’s frustrated, sad, angry, pissed off – feel these emotions, go to a kickboxing class, have a margarita, do whatever you need to do this weekend and then wake up on Monday morning, we’ve got to keep fighting.
That didn’t go over very well.
A shadow President
Barack Obama has in fact done many things to earn him the title of “shadow President.” These include, among other things:
- Buying a mansion within the corporate limits of Washington, D.C.
- Running several operations to discredit President Trump during his term of office.
- According to this source, actually masterminding the return of the Taliban to power.
So is Barack Obama really calling the shots? As the source behind the Taliban masterminding claim points out, Joe Biden is in cognitive decline. That he is actually running this chaos is actually more difficult to believe, not less. Contributor Joan Swirsky did dismiss Obama as the shadow President, but only because he impressed her and others as a lazy dilletante more interested in “conspicuous consumption” than in doing really hard work. If that laziness was just for show, it would explain Obama’s still residing in Washington. It would also explain Jen Psaki’s remarks:
- Jen Psaki worked in the Obama White House and would be an obvious point-of-contact.
- Obama appointed many people whom Trump should have fired, but didn’t. (Or not until it was too late.)
- Biden would keep those same holdovers on, because he, they, and Obama would be simpatico.
So perhaps Jen Psaki revealed more than she should have. Like her nominal boss, she needs to learn to keep her mouth shut.
