Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot urges ‘call to arms’ against Supreme Court: ‘We will not surrender our rights without a fight’
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot faced backlash after tweeting a “call to arms” for the LGBTQ community who she claimed the Supreme Court would target next if they overturn Roe V. Wade.
On Monday night, Lightfoot, who is Chicago’s first openly gay, black female mayor, warned the LGBTQ community that an end to Roe V. Wade would pave the way for the court to limit their own rights and called on the community to “fight.”
“To my friends in the LGBTQ+ community—the Supreme Court is coming for us next. This moment has to be a call to arms,” Lightfoot tweeted. “We will not surrender our rights without a fight—a fight to victory!”
The message was slammed for allegedly provoking violence while the Department of Justice was criticized for failing to stop protesters who continue to camp outside the homes of three Supreme Court judges.
During an interview with MSNBC, Lightfoot was asked to clarify her meaning of “call to arms.”
“I think everybody who saw that draft opinion has gone through a range of different emotions,” Lightfoot said. “And that’s why I’m calling upon fellow elected officials across the country, and particularly my fellow mayors to join me in making a pledge that we made today, which is a justice for all pledge. And fundamentally, it reaffirms Chicago as a welcoming city, a city that doesn’t discriminate, and a city that’s going to stand with women.”
“The Mayor of the most violent city in America is here to worry about woke nonsense instead of people literally dying in the streets there,” wrote one Twitter user.
Other critics blasted Lightfoot by referring to Chicago’s high murder rate and suggesting her priority wasn’t the safety of her constituents.
“You’d think she’d be more concerned with her crime riddled city but here she is gaslighting & inciting,” wrote conservative commentator Rita Panahi, while another conservative commentator, Matt Walsh, wrote, “Not satisfied with the murders just in her own city, Mayor Lightfoot calls for more violence across the country.”
“The Mayor of Murder City has a call to arms. She has her priorities…and none of them are her constituents,” wrote columnist Derek Hunter.
Chicago has reported 194 murders in 2022, a six percent drop from this time last year. According to police, crime all over Chicago has increased almost 35 percent.

When writing articles people need to use the correct words. Lori Lightfoot by her own statements is a homosexual and a sodomite. The fact that she is gay, i.e. happy, is not a description of her behavior. The “LGBTxyz” movement is about promoting deviant behaviors and recruiting people, especially children, into engaging in the deviant behaviors. She is a typical “Left” who promotes things that undermine freedom, prosperity, and people working together for everyone’s benefit.
The “Left” is about destroying the family and exterminating people, as well as eliminating responsibility and the Rule of Law. “Roe v Wade” was unconstitutional ruling that needs to be eliminated. And there are two reasons for an abortion to be done. The first is the child is dead in the womb. The second is an Ectopic Pregnancy which will result in the child and mother dying.
