Georgia grand jury subpoenas Giuliani, Sen. Graham in Trump election probe

A Grand Jury in Fulton County Georgie has issued a myriad of subpoenas to several people including Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Rudy Giuliani, who has previously represented Donald Trump.

The following members of Donald Trump’s team have also been ordered to testify: Jenna Ellis, John Eastman, Cleta Mitchell and Doug Deason.

The subpoenas were signed off by Judge Robert McBurney, who oversaw the Grand Jury. The subpoenas referenced “at least two telephone calls” that Graham made to Georgia’s Republican secretary of state Brad Raffensperger, according to Capitol Beat.

“During the telephone calls, Graham questioned Secretary Raffensperger and his staff about reexamining certain absentee ballots cast in Georgia in order to explore the possibility of a more favorable outcome for former President Donald Trump,” the subpoena said, UPI reports.

The subpoena added: “Graham also made reference to allegations of widespread voter fraud in the November 2020 election in Georgia, consistent with public statements made by known affiliates of the Trump Campaign.”

The subpoena also cites a phone call made by Donald Trump on January 2, 2021. During the phone call, Trump was alleged to have exerted pressure on Raffensberger to overturn the state’s election results.

Trump was reported to have told Raffensberger to “find” enough votes to allow him to gain victory over Joe Biden. Another exert provided from the call was “I just want to find 11,780 votes.” Trump has vehemently denied these claims along with any other wrongdoing during this call.

The subpoena goes onto say that Giuliani “possesses unique knowledge concerning communications between himself, former President Trump, the Trump Campaign, and other known and unknown individuals involved in the multi-state, coordinated efforts to influence the results of the November 2020 election in Georgia and elsewhere.”

Giuliani’s attorney Robert Costello said during an interview with CNBC “We don’t know anything about a subpoena.” He added, “We have not received any subpoena.” Costello said when pressed on Giuliani’s response to the subpoena “We’ll decide that if and when it comes to pass.”
