Morton’s Steakhouse condemns protesters’ attempt to confront Justice Kavanaugh at dinner

On Wednesday, Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh was forced to exit Morton’s Steakhouse in Washington, D.C. through the back door after protesters were notified of his presence and went to confront him as he dined out.

ShutDownDC, an organizing group that was tipped off about Kavanaugh’s dinner at the steakhouse, encouraged people to message them if they wanted to receive the location. Protestors quickly gathered at the restaurant.

The group said on Twitter only about an hour later: “We hear Kavanaugh snuck out the back with his security detail. @mortons should be ashamed for welcoming a man who so clearly hates women.”

According to Politico, the protesters showed up out front and called on the manager to kick out Kavanaugh out, ultimately forcing the justice to exit through the back of the restaurant. A source close to the matter told Politico that Kavanaugh “did not hear or see the protesters and ate a full meal but left before dessert.”

A spokesperson for Morton’s condemned the protest, saying in a statement obtained by Politico: “Honorable Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh and all of our other patrons at the restaurant were unduly harassed by unruly protestors while eating dinner at our Morton’s restaurant.”

They added, “Politics, regardless of your side or views, should not trample the freedom at play of the right to congregate and eat dinner. There is a time and place for everything. Disturbing the dinner of all of our customers was an act of selfishness and void of decency.”

Many people on social media disagreed with the group’s tactics. One person Tweeted in response to the protest: “While I am also angry about the Supreme Court’s rulings, I disagree with demonstrating in front of Kavanaugh’s home or his restaurant of choice. It makes our side look really bad! Go make noise in front of the Capitol, where it’s not too late to accomplish something!”

But others called for more confrontation of the justices. “It’s not the fault of the restaurant but…. I hope this happens to him every time and everywhere he goes,” said another person.

The “Left” can not deal with things or people that disagree with them. And anyone who understands what an abortion involves would never support it. But remember, the “Left” is not interested in being held responsible for the behavior they engage in or promote. People should also learn why the “Left” has been promoting abortion for more than a century.
