Maura Healey and Becca Balint make LGBTQ+ history in midterm elections
Becca Balint, a Democrat, has won her congressional race in Vermont against Republican Liam Madden, making her the first woman and first openly-gay person from the state to go to DC.
In another historical moment, Massachusetts Democrat Maura Healey became the first openly gay person to win the governorship.
Balint has an an impressive resume dating back to 2015, when she became the first lesbian to serve as a Vermont state senator. Balint has campaigned on a promise to prohibit conversion therapy and promote public support for transgender and gay youth in the state.
New Massachusetts governor-elect, Maura Healey, is not only the state’s first openly gay governor, she is also the state’s first female governor. Healey’s victory means the state will have its first Democratic governor in eight years.
Some other midterm results so far have also made historic firsts. In Maryland, Democrat Wes Moore won the race for governor against Republican Dan Cox, making Moore the state’s first ever Black governor, and only the third Black state governor in the country’s history.
In Florida, the first Generation Z candidate won their race in the 10th congressional district. Maxwell Alejandro Frost, who is only 25 years old, beat out 72-year old Republican Calvin Wimbish. In New Hampshire, the first trans man in United States history was elected to the state legislature.

People need to use the proper words. A Lesbian is from the Isle of Lesvos which is between Greece and Turkey. Learn why women were desired by men as wives from the island. And the word “gay” means happy. it is not a description of behavior or sexual attractions. The proper term for her abnormal sexual attraction is homosexual and homosexuality and if she is involved in same-sex-on-sex behavior the additional words are sodomy, sodomite, sodomize. It is important to use the proper words and their real meanings. And many people misuse words to hide behavior and real objectives.
