Fox News sends Tucker Carlson cease-and-desist letter
Fox News today raised the stakes and sent Tucker Carlson a cease-and-desist letter, according t Axios. His attorney responded.
The war of words between Fox News Channel and Tucker Carlson now becomes a legal war. Axios reports today that Fox’ legal department has sent a cease-and-desist letter to Carlson’s legal team.
Fox News raises the stakes
The Axios report is remarkably short on detail – except that the latest letter from Fox News goes far beyond the accusatory letter they sent last week. Axios claimed to have a copy of a letter marked “NOT FOR PUBLICATION” in boldface along its top margin. Presumably it orders Carlson to stop making video content and uploading it to Twitter. Fox sent its earlier letter after Tucker Carlson released his first episode. Breitbart reported Saturday that this episode had received over 100 million views by then.
Tucker released his second episode after that first letter arrived. This latest cease-and-desist letter, if it exists, would appear to be Fox’ rejoinder.
Readers can view both of Tucker Carlson’s episodes here:
Justin Wells, Executive Producer for Tucker on Twitter, teased up Episode Three for tomorrow. That will show Tucker’s response to the indictment of former President Donald J. Trump.
Axios also shared rumors that have reached it, saying Tucker will go beyond the monologues he has released thus far. “We hear some big names have been lined up,” Axios said.
Harmeet K. Dhillon, attorney and one-time candidate for Republican National Committee Chair, apparently represents Tucker, along with Bryan Freedman. Apparently she had been a fixture on Fox herself. No more – understandable if she has joined Tucker’s team. But in this scathing four-tweet thread, she said more.
In reaction, many outraged fans of Dhillon (and Carlson) called for a boycott of Fox News.
Running scared?
Axios further says they reached out to Fox for comment, without result.
One user suggested Tucker has a cause of action against Fox for harming his marketability.
Others, like this user, gave kudos to Ms. Dhillon for her consistent advocacy of free speech and other conservative positions.
One fan suggested that she take her program to Newsmax. But Dhillon appeared to demur.

From what I can tell FOX breached the contract by taking him off the air. The fact they are still giving him money does not change the fact the took his show off the air. Amendment 1 and other inherent rights allow him to express himself in and on the public square.
