Immigration – battlefront for America

Immigration is the current battlefront at which American civilization will live or die. Everyone suspected that during the Biden administration. (They especially suspected it when Biden ordered border wall contractors to down tools and go home.) But as soon as Donald J. Trump became President again, and had the authority to act, he began to act. When he did, almost the entire Democratic Party, including Senators, Representatives, governors, and mayors, started opposing him. Those people have joined battle, and the final civilizational war is in full swing.

The stakes on immigration

Columnist Bill King at The Houston Chronicle gave the best summary of the stakes. He reported yesterday that the Congressional Budget Office has lowered its projections of American population growth. In that report he gave this stark observation:

As a result of the lower [than replacement level] fertility rate, the CBO now projects that natural population growth (births in excess of deaths) will go negative in 2033. We have barely been staying positive for the last several years, adding about 500,000 new native-born citizens each year. By 2055, the CBO expects that the U.S. will have about 800,000 more deaths each year than births.

The wild card, however, is immigration. The CBO estimates that over the last four years, the U.S. population has increased by about 10 million due to immigration. Roughly 3 million came through the regular immigration process, legally obtaining the right to move to this country. The remaining 7 million came illegally or came claiming asylum and were released pending an adjudication of their claim.

The CBO’s projection is based on the inflow of immigrants of about 1 million per year. That is about the number legally admitted annually for the last two decades, including during the previous Trump administration. Of course, if Trump were to make good on his promises to have more restrictions on immigration and conduct widespread deportations, that could put significant downward pressure on the total population.

Mr. King also noted that the total fertility rate – the number of children the average woman has – is not much higher for immigrant women than for native women. And both rates are below the 2.1 replacement level for civilized countries that are neither war-torn nor disease-ridden.

This graph puts those numbers into stark relief.

Notice: by mid-century, King expects America’s population growth to stagnate. Notice also: immigration will exactly balance the excess of deaths over births. In other words, immigrants will replace native-born Americans. This proves the Great Replacement.

Is that deliberate? Without direct testimony that the SecGen of the United Nations, or some Shadow Secretariat, has given an order tantamount to America delenda est, none can prove that. (Or maybe we can. The UN Network on Migration keeps a SecGen’s report titled “Making Migration Work for All.”)

But we find motive aplenty – and can infer complicity from the protests that have already come in from abroad. Pope Francis provided the booby-prize example, by calling President Trump’s deportation plans “a disgrace.” He has made similar statements before.

What Trump has done on immigration

As soon as he had a desk, a set of pens, and the authority to sign anything, President Trump signed the following Executive Orders:

1. Initial rescissions of harmful executive orders and actions, including Biden’s Orders 13993, 14012, and 14013, all dealing with immigration;
2. Declaring A National Emergency At The Southern Border Of The United States,
3. Clarifying the Military’s Role in Protecting the Territorial Integrity of the United States,
4. Realigning the United States Refugee Admissions Program,
5. Protecting the Meaning and Value of American Citizenship (see also yesterday’s discussion),
6. Securing Our Borders,
7. Protecting the American People Against Invasion,
8. Protecting The United States From Foreign Terrorists And Other National Security And Public Safety Threats,
9. Designating Cartels and Other Organizations as Foreign Terrorist Organizations and Specially Designated Global Terrorists, and
10. Guaranteeing the States Protection Against Invasion.

Two days ago, incoming Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director (and “Border Czar”) Tom Homan confirmed that his agents were already arresting “criminal aliens.” Yesterday morning he confirmed it again. Criminal aliens are those who commit crimes in addition to unlawful entry. ICE had arrested 308 such aliens as of late yesterday morning.

Also yesterday, Trump sent 1500 active-duty troops to the U.S.-Mexican border. (Reports from The Gateway Pundit and The Daily Wire.) White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed this last night. Trump’s national emergency declaration clears those troops to make arrests; otherwise the Posse Comitatus Act would forbid such activity.

More actions

Yesterday Trump issued a Fact Sheet listing the measures he has taken and plans to take. Currently the border is closed to entry. Furthermore the notorious “CBP-One” app, that illegal entrants would use to make “appointments” with Customs and Border Protection that they never meant to keep, is now dark.

Trump also relieved the Commandant of the Coast Guard of her command. The new Acting Commandant (Adm. Kevin Lunday USCG) pledged immediate enhanced action on border security.

Per the “realignment” of the Refugee Admissions Program, the State Department has suspended all refugee flights into the country.

Yesterday afternoon, the House of Representatives passed and sent to the President the “Laken Riley Act.” Per that Act, ICE must arrest, detain and deportany illegal immigrant who commits a crime on American soil. The vote was 263-156, with 14 absences. All 156 “nay” votes came from Democrats. The version that passed the House yesterday is even stronger than one that passed last week.

The ICE force in Boston laid on a raid looking for criminal aliens. They arrested another 300 criminal aliens in that operation alone.

These collateral arrests are something that border czar Tom Homan has warned would happen in sanctuary jurisdictions. At one point, a woman yelled out “thank you” to ICE as a violent illegal alien was being arrested in her neighborhood.

Late last night, New York City Mayor Eric Adams made a thunderclap admission. In an interview with Tucker Carlson he told of repeatedly remonstrating with the Biden White House about illegal immigrants. Biden, or his handlers, would tell him to “Be a good Democrat, Eric.”

The resistance

Resistance to ICE has already surfaced. Susan Crabtree discussed some of it yesterday. This morning, Paul Drabik at The Gateway Pundit gave further details of such resistance in Chicago and Illinois. Apparently Mr. Homan planned a giant raid in Chicago – but someone leaked those plans. That could explain why Homan’s first show of force took place in Boston instead. But more to the point, Illinois has been passing legislation to help illegal immigrants evade detection, and obtain an ersatz ID that looks like a “REAL ID.”

Alderman Raymond Lopez of Chicago is furious. He shared this to X yesterday morning:

The part about schools refers to a declaration from Homeland Security that “schools are not off-limits” to ICE. That occasioned a spirited debate on CNN NewsNight, in which Scott Jennings got off some priceless zingers.

I think if I were dropping my kid off at school, and they showed up and arrested someone who, I don’t know, had committed a violent crime or had an existing adjudicated deportation order, I would, A: wonder why they were at the school? And B: say, great! finally, somebody is enforcing the law in the United States of America. I would have no problem with this, truthfully.

Predictably, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) called for civil disobedience against the Presidential actions. “We don’t have to listen to him,” she said.

Elsewhere, Gov. Bill Lee (R-Tenn.) has called his legislature into special session. They will consider legislation to strengthen state ID requirements, penalize local authorities who defy ICE, and create an immigration enforcement support office.

And the City Council of Huntington Beach, California passed a resolution to declare their town a non-sanctuary city.

Analysis

As Susan Crabtree said yesterday, the two sides have drawn their battle lines. We now know what the Democrats want, and what they’ve always wanted. They want to replace the prevailing demographic in America with one that, they believe, will always vote their way.

But that’s not strictly true. In the Election of 2024, all demographics, except the surviving First Baby Boomers, shifted right. Or perhaps they shifted to Donald Trump, who is delivering what the Democrats originally promised – and never intended to deliver.

Either way, Trump is making good already on his promise to remove a distinctly hostile demographic. Many members of that demographic have already gone home, knowing what will come.

Trump will need to address the Total Fertility Rate decline eventually. Most likely, the low average TFR will select for respecters of tradition, but that will take a generation or two. In the meantime, Trump must remove the hostiles, who are in fact the foot soldiers of the one-worlders. Evidence exists to suggest this very strongly, and the loudest “resistance” voices agree with the one-worlders. So those of us who do not want a one-world government, should support our President fully in his endeavors.
