Obama’s Perverse Memorial Day Gift to Veterans
Did you listen to Obama’s speech on Memorial Day at the Viet Nam Memorial? I’m sure you needed boots. This phony can really shovel it on. When he opens his mouth we know he’s lying. Observance of Memorial Day is our day to honor our fallen heroes. But the Marxist Street-Organizer-in-Chief can never understand that. And he has often shown his contempt for our troops, and our veterans. His speech was nothing more than a campaign stop, and a poor one.
Anti-Veteran Propaganda
Nor is Obama alone. The government propaganda ministry works in lockstep with the Usurper-in-Chief. MSNBC’s Chris Hayes gives us a prime example:
I feel uncomfortable about the word ‘hero’ because it seems to me that it is so rhetorically proximate to justifications for more war. Um, and, I don’t want to obviously desecrate or disrespect memory of anyone that’s fallen, and obviously there are individual circumstances in which there is genuine, tremendous heroism, you know, hail of gunfire, rescuing fellow soldiers, and things like that. But it seems to me that we marshal this word in a way that is problematic. But maybe I’m wrong about that…
You are definitely wrong, boy! Two-bit brainwashed progressive reprobates like you and Obama probably never fired a BB gun or proudly wore the uniform of an American servicemen/women. Naturally you loath the military. Neither you nor Obama can comprehend that those who gave their lives for our country are the real heroes, standing their ground for freedom.
Shamefully, Americans have such short memories! After taking office, Obama’s Marxist regime’s kitchen maid, Janet Napolitano, forwarded a memo to this effect: “returning veterans” are possible terrorists, as are those who believe in the 2nd Amendment or the right to life, or those who oppose “gay marriage.”
So what does all this have to do with Memorial Day? Where am I going?
What If You Are A Disabled Veteran Looking For Benefits
The Veterans Administration SOP (standard operating procedure) by the numbers:
-
A vet applies for disability benefits.
-
He or she customarily receives a letter saying either “We have no record of that injury; can you provide additional information?” or “Your medical file burned during the fire in Missouri Hall of Records.”
-
Then the saga begins: “We need more information. We’ll get back to you.”
-
Months to years later the vet gets a letter: “Denied.” (Or “you are awarded 10%” if you’re lucky.)
-
Then you start the endless appeal process, taking years. They just happen to put your file onto an endless pile.
Many who served during Viet Nam going through the process have a saying concerning the VA: They’re waiting for an Army to die.
How Obama’s Administration Stabs Veterans In The Back
That being said, Obama’s Administration are not satisfied to just wait for that Army to die, bless their morbid Marxist souls. They’ve found a way to help old veterans die faster. In the past, normally a Vet got check-ups at appointed intervals. He would go for blood work, and then within a week or so, he would see his health-care provider.
That is now a thing of the past. You are no longer entitled to have a personal face-to-face visit with your provider at the outpatient clinic or hospital. They’ve devised a new procedure: you now “visit” by telephone. Yes, you read that right: by telephone.
Watson! Come here! I want you! — Alexander Graham Bell, the first man ever to call a doctor over a telephone.
I guess our compassionate Commander-in-Chief can save the taxpayers money to help his civilian entitlement programs. Just think: that money can pay for emergency visits by illegal aliens at our local hospital. It’s the progressive way: everyone gets free medical care, and this is America, land of the free and the brave—except for veterans. They’ll have to use the phone if they want to see a doctor. They bravely fight for our freedom, and the illegals get everything free, including the right to see a doctor on demand. It’s the law!
Allow me to present two examples that prompted me to write this article. Viet Nam veteran John received the embedded letter telling him that he can’t visit a doctor in person anymore. The doctor will now “visit” him by telephone. John suffers from cancer, diabetes, heart problems and neuropathy, all due to “Agent Orange”. Refusing to accept this, John wrote Senators Charles Schumer and Kristen Gillibrand. Believe it or not, within days the VA telephoned John, apologized, and scheduled an on-site visit. Oh did I mention that John spent nine years of appeals to get any benefits, and then the VA found him 300% disabled? I don’t want any of you progressives to panic. A veteran gets payment only for 100% disability, unlike those who got millions if they fell victim to the Islamic barbarians attack that attacked us on 9/11.
John was fortunate, unlike example two, George. He is another veteran and member of the same AMVETS post as John. He also had the unexpected pleasure of experiencing “Agent Orange” in Nam. He suffers from “ischemia,” again due to “Agent Orange’. After George got his letter, he went straight to the VA Clinic to say he wanted a personal visit directly with a doctor. He had a heart condition and was concerned. They scheduled an appointment immediately. But when he got home, not even an hour later, he found a voice message waiting for him: the VA had canceled his appointment and he would have to accept a telephonic doctor visit.
Do you still buy Obama’s speech on Memorial Day? Do you still think his concern for our veterans is real? Yeah, Obama you’ll get veterans to vote for you, when hell freezes over!
Mr. Obama, that veteran paid the price for your freedom, and those in uniform are still paying that price. Those you would ignore and disrespect are the stewards of freedom, not government. And by the way: our service personnel in uniform are not fighting for you! They’re fighting to protect the US Constitution and our American way of life. I guess you haven’t read the oath they all take, the one you and the rest of the quislings in Congress break every day. In case you have forgotten, it reads:
I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.
Or the enlisted service member’s or National Guardsman’s oath ends:
and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States [and the Governor of (STATE NAME)] and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to law and regulations. So help me God.
One more thing: read the Constitution, and especially the First Amendment, and your unconstitutional mandates, Health-care bill regulations and legislation.
Recently the Bay Shore (New Jersey) Tea Party started handing out pins saying,
I WILL NOT COMPLY.
(Thanks, Lynn!) Neither will those who have served and understand the true meaning of freedom. Maybe, just maybe, your administration is correct in saying,
We have to keep an eye on those veterans.
Keep this in mind: the veterans are starting to keep a close eye on you.

Is There Such a Thing as the Jewish Vote?
On the other hand the US veteran’s package is generally excellent, and way beyond what most other western armies get. The real problem, and it goes back years, is the poor pay for serving personnel. I don’t know when you served yourself, but six years ago a US Army Sergeant was getting barely over half what I earned at the same rank.
[…] Obama’s Perverse Memorial Day Gift to Veterans…memo to the vets…JOIN OATHKEEPERS! […]
Ok 2 things with this little rant:
1. Bell’s assistant Watson was not a doctor. If that’s the level of your research, no wonder your birther cases keep getting thrown out of court.
2. What was the procedure for dealing with veterans under the Bush regime? At least Obama is bringing the troops home, unlike that war criminal Bush, who sent them off to die on a lie.
Nothing like a good conservative to forget that the Republicans are exactly the same, if not worse.
I thought entitlements were *bad* in Teabaggerland? Or is that only for people we don’t like?
