Ignite the Pulpit
Lies will out
Who has not heard the expression that if given enough time the truth will eventually come out? In fact in the Biblical record, the opposite is spoken of in precise and clear terms. According to the prophetic message of the scriptures there is a day when falsehood comes fully out of hiding and has its own special time.
As if in hibernation the craft and art of lying will emerge out of its lair in the last days and will be pervasive and fully acceptable across the globe. The odd fact that it is God himself that brings that time around and can only be understood when it is seen that the last generation does not want to be bothered by truth, especially God’s truth so they hastily go about to relieve themselves of any connection to God.
The ways and means of falsehood
When that effort is fully underway many will proceed to remove all allusion to God. Simple slogans, public crosses, leading biblical or Christian phrases in documents and symbols of government in all branches will openly and actively be attacked and removed if possible. Only one question remains: why?
The Apostle Paul explains that at the time of the revealing of the world’s last dictator (Antichrist) that the very attitude and spirit of the day will incline so far into falsehood and immorality that God himself allows a strong spirit or veil of deception to be pulled over the eyes (conscience) of those who are opting in to the lies of the day. This is what is known as a state of reprobation. In what is perhaps one of the saddest proclamations in the entirety of scripture Paul describes God’s intervention into man’s worldwide waltz into the shadows. To wit:
And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: (2Th 2: 8–11)
An abundance of examples
With plenty of production money, eager audiences with imaginations primed by a penchant for sex, violence and perversion Hollywood’s best minds feed both the stable and the dangerously unstable of our society with their poison pabulum. Movies about vampires were followed with cases of people drawing and drinking blood and some lost their lives in the action. Today’s rash of zombie movies has produced three new cases of real zombie incidents across the nation, the most notable being the homeless Florida man whose face was eaten off by his attacker and is now fighting for his life and in need of a $200,000 surgery help him to recover. This is reprobation.
No societal boundaries
Reprobation knows no societal boundaries. The pro-life organization called ‘Live Action’ went public with the results of their latest investigation of Planned Parenthood and revealed that they were offering abortions based on gender. Video of that event was first seen on the Daily Caller and swept the nation in a viral action in a matter of hours. This example of reprobation doesn’t end with Planned Parenthood, but it can be traced upwards to the very levels of congress where protection from such behaviors should be dealt with and headed off, but don’t hold your breath.
The needed two-thirds majority vote to stop gender abortions failed in the house and the vote on Thursday May 31 was 246-168 with some republicans voting against it. With thirty votes short of passage another bill that we might think would pass through the house at the speed of life has left yet another group of Americans without their basic right to life – unborn female children. This is reprobation.
When saving lives means changing leaders
President Obama is the most pro-choice president in American history, but the number of people now willing to see the end of abortion has never been higher. We the people have had a four year long battle with president and congress about the direction the country should be going. It is abundantly clear that reprobation has been dictating who the winner will be in this battle. There is still time.
If Obama is the tone setter then we can only hope that after November the nation decides to put another song maker in the White House before anyone else is denied their very right to life. To leave the leadership of this nation exactly as it is, will itself qualify as an act of reprobation.

Pennsylvania is Now the Bellwether on Democrats’ Future
And once again, a promising post loses all credibility because the basic premise is “because Obama.”
I know you won’t answer this Michael, because Terry doesn’t seem to allow his posters to respond, but please explain how allowing abortions would directly impact your life, compared with how banning abortions would directly impact the lives of those it would affect.
I’m not interested in “because the Bible says so” – what direct impact would it have? The answer is none.
For that matter, another question for all the pro-lifers on here: How many unwanted children have you adopted? How much do you contribute directly towards the upkeep and upbringing of an underprivileged, unwanted child?
I’m guessing the answer is also none.
Allowing indiscriminate murder for cold-hearted convenience affects us all, and sets precedents that threaten everyone. How long before the government decides that we just “get in the way”?
The law was troubling even for Republicans because it so broadly crossed the lines of privacy and judgment in the doctor-patient relationship.
For a bunch of people concerned about “Agenda21” and the government over-reaching into the controland seizure of personal property, you certainty have little problem valuing women as something less than property and giving the government the right to control it.
“Protecting the rights of the unborn” by ignoring or even removing the rights of women is not a policy that respects human rights at all.
Q: How would this affect us?
A: It would affect us all!
lol, classic…
Exactly the same logic applies to the death penalty. But you support that.
Not true. Those to whom the law applies the death penalty, deserve what they get. That is, when you reserve it for the deliberate and pre-planned taking of a life.
Sorry, but it doesn’t work that way. And to use your argument, “What if the government decides that illegal parking is now punishable by death?”
You cannot play God on one end of the spectrum and decide who gets to die, while at the same time deciding that a bunch of cells deserves to live.
It’s the fishing principle – throw him back Edward, we’ll get him when he’s bigger.
The even bigger irony is that people who end up on death row are probably those who were raised in a situation where it would have been better if they had been aborted.
Once again I ask – how many unwanted children have you adopted / do you support?
“Those to whom the law applies the death penalty, deserve what they get.”
Tell that to the family of Carlos DeLuna, who was executed by Texas despite clear evidence of innocence.

When you have crowds of people cheering Rick Perry when he proudly cites the number of people killed in the name of “justice”, you have to wonder if the term “beyond a reasonable doubt” holds any meaning for them.
When an innocent person’s life is on the line, there’s room for “Oops”.
Against that story you cited, I cite hundreds of women who have gone to their deaths, because their serial, sexually charged murderers did not go to their own executions after the first such case.
“Against that story you cited, I cite hundreds of women who have gone to their deaths, because their serial, sexually charged murderers did not go to their own executions after the first such case.”
Terry, you’re not exactly telling the truth. The question is always life in prison vs death. No one is saying we should let them out to commit more crimes, and I don’t believe you can cite any relevant case where they did.
No, it isn’t always life in prison v. death. Ever heard of the concept “parole”?
Not many prisoners get L-WOPPed. That’s expensive for the State authority, as I’m sure you can appreciate.
Obviously, I meant to say:
When an innocent person’s life is on the line, there’s NO room for “Oops”.
So there’s an acceptable ratio of innocent-to-guilty people that can be executed by society in the name of “justice”?
Putting someone in prison for life without parole accomplishes the same protection of the innocent that you’re concerned about, but is still reversible. It’s also more cost-effective than going through all the mandatory appeals of the capital punishment process.
Also interesting to note that there was no outcry or critical editorial here on CNaV when Conservative Republican governor Haley Barbour pardoned multiple murderers, including six who killed their wives or girlfriends.

Seems strange that you’re more concerned about maintaining the right to kill murderers than in keeping convicted murderers locked up in the first place.
Terry, this whole thing about you supporting the death penalty is astounding. You trust the court to take a person’s life but on the same site you spend most of your time ranting about how you don’t trust judges.
I trust juries, That includes grand juries. I quote Amendment V:
The major exception to that one is during a time of invasion or anything similar.
And I would never leave that penalty to a judge. That’s what penalty phases are for.
