Protesters use NYC Halloween parade as chance to taunt President Biden, Mayor Adams

Protestors vented their strong feelings towards President Joe Biden during Monday’s Halloween parade in New York city by chanting “F*** Joe Biden.”

The New York Post reported that a lot of the chants came from an anti-lockdown group who were protesting against the government’s response to COVID-19.

New York City’s Democratic Mayor Eric Adams also faced the wrath of the protesters, who repeated their anti-Biden chant, however swapped Biden’s name with that of Eric Adams.

One person, who was dressed up as Adams for Halloween, criticized the mayor’s handling of mask mandates.

“I am never going to drop the mandates, especially for city workers,” the man, according to the Independent Journal Review. “I’m dropping it for private workers but not for city workers because they are second-class citizens.”

A spokesperson for Adams responded to criticism, telling Fox News Digital that “city workers heroically stepped up over the past 2+ years to serve New Yorkers throughout the pandemic.”

“We’ve announced additional flexibility for families and businesses, as we continue to encourage everyone to get vaccinated and boosted. As we provide New Yorkers with more options, we are leading by example and keeping our vaccination policy in place,” they said.

“Ensuring the vaccinations of city workers has played a critical role in keeping city services running, even when COVID-19 rates were on the rise — ensuring our trash gets picked up, our streets are kept safe, and our schools continue to stay open. We owe the hundreds of thousands of city workers who stepped up to serve a debt of gratitude.”

The spokesperson added, “We will continue to pivot and shift around COVID and make the health decisions that are best for the people of this city, as we work to make the decisions that will stop our city from shutting down again.”

The event, officially known as the Village Halloween Parade, drew tens of thousands of attendants and thousands more onlookers.

The parade was previously canceled in 2020 due the pandemic. It was able to continue in 2021 after receiving a large donation which helped fund the event, WNYW reported.
