Obama eligibility: posse on warpath
The Obama eligibility investigation will not stop. Indeed, the latest Hawaii letter has infuriated the Cold Case Posse even more.
Obama eligibility: Hawaii answers
A week and a half ago, Mike Zullo, leader of the Maricopa County Cold Case Posse, traveled to Hawaii. Zullo and his team are running the only “official” Obama eligibility investigation in the country. With him went a Maricopa County deputy detective, and journalist Jerome R. Corsi.
On Monday, Zullo and company tried to meet with officials at the Hawaii Department of Health. They refused.
The next day, Hawaii officials sent this to the Arizona Secretary of State. The one-page letter has the title “Verification of birth.” It lists several pieces of information that one can read on the White House Obama birth certificate document. But as Zullo told Corsi yesterday:
- The document gives a time of birth but not a date of birth.
- The signature by Alvin T. Onaka, PhD, the Hawaii Registrar, has the handwritten lowercase initials “gk” next to it.
That signature has another problem: the penstrokes of the signature are spotty. They look the way a signature might look if Dr. Onaka signed his name with a pen almost out of ink. Or maybe the signature came from a rubber stamp that didn’t have enough ink on it.
No boss tells his secretary to write her handwritten initials next to his signature. Typical boss-and-secretary initials for a letter that a boss dictates look like this: “BOS:sec” But anyone who adds anything to certain legal documents, like wills, real-estate contracts, and the like, always initials the additions.
Cold Case Posse: this is not the end
Late last night, Drew Zahn, Corsi’s colleague at WND, released this report. In it, Zahn paraphrased Zullo on the signatures. Several rubber stamps, each bearing the signature of Alvin T. Onaka, exist in the Hawaii Department of Health. Zullo used the phrase floating around to describe how people take care of these stamps.
Zullo also gave an interview to Mark Gillar at TeaPartyHour.com. Among other things he told Gillar:
Actually, what looked like it was going to be almost like a deal killer, in a sense opened the door up to a greater avenue of investigational material.
And:
They are either so inept at taking care of vital statistics here, or this cover-up is bigger than any of us imagined.
Zullo seems to think that Dr. Onaka is trying to cover himself. That would suggest that Onaka is afraid that this or another investigation will expose him to criminal charges.
Zullo also revealed that he never meant to disclose that he was in Hawaii. Somehow, he says, the Arizona papers (including The Arizona Republic) found out about the trip and threatened to disclose it no matter what Zullo said or did. He blames the breaking of the story for encouraging Hawaii officials not to cooperate with him.
Jeffrey Phelps, the Denver Activism Examiner, has more. Jerome Corsi gave an interview to Alex Jones (InfoWars.com). In it he said that some person or persons might have fabricated an identity for Barack Obama from the day he was born. Corsi might still be asking whether Barack Obama’s father was not Barack H. Obama, Senior, but Frank Marshall Davis.
A New Jersey activist reacts
Nick Purpura has his own Obama eligibility case on appeal in New Jersey. When CNAV reached him for comment on the Arizona investigation, he expressed shock.
More than one signature stamp? You’re kidding! What more do these guys need?
He also expressed outrage at those in government who, he says, do not want to investigate. Some in Washington have told him that they fear that removing “the first black President” from office will incite race riots.
It is they who have divided our people. And how dare they?
Purpura was talking about several incidents of black-on-white violence following the arrest of George Zimmermann in the death of Trayvon Martin of Sanford, FL. He suspects that someone might be orchestrating these outbursts.
Purpura then returned to the real issue: the Constitution.
They are telling us that we cannot afford to investigate such an outrageous violation of our Constitution as to have an unqualified man sitting in the White House. If that’s true, then we cannot stop any violation of the Constitution!

Who Can Save the Marine Corps?
So once again, Corsi and Zullo, the guys with a personal profit motive in this because they’re selling birther-conspiracy books, are trying to reignite the base after another public failure.
The AZ Secretary of State put his credibility on the line by accommodating a fringe request to certify that President Obama qualifies to be on the ballot. He followed the law, and accepted the certification from the State of Hawaii. That should settle the matter as far as Arizona is concerned, unless proof of criminal misconduct on the part of the Secretary of State is presented.
That’s not going to happen because there is none, so here’s the relevant question: where is the mandate that allows deputized members of Maricopa’s law enforcement department to continue to conduct this investigation under the auspice of the MCSO? The matter is settled under Arizona law, and there’s no crime to investigate in their jurisdiction.
If volunteers want to keep going that’s fine, but it’s misconduct for Arpaio to continue to sponsor this as a law-enforcement matter in his county anymore. He doesn’t have a problem with misconduct, though, so I don’t expect anything to change.
The one prediction I’ll offer is that when the actual misconduct case against his department heats up enough, he’ll just pull a Palin, quit, and cash in on book and reality television deals. None of what’s going on now is for the benefits of the Maricopa County citizens – it’s all just promotion and building up the “Sheriff Joe” brand in advance of the cashing-out.
My prediction is that Joe Arpaio will become the Kent Hovind of the right-wing paranoia movement. I don’t think there is any way he’s going to come out of this without prison time. And it all just fits together perfect. I’m sure Terry thinks Hovind was innocent, too…yet another cog in this massive, all-encompassing conspiracy.
Dinsdale –
Nice try but not good enough. While apparently attempting to defend our White House occupier, master deceiver, you shift the focus of this latest CNAV commentary onto the AZ Sheriff. I’ll assure you that he is not the issue. The issue is Obama’s identity scandal – and, him not meeting the US Constitutional standard of being a natural born citizen to be legitimate president.
Dinsdale – You and others who are attempting to defend Obama, would do better preparing your dinner tables to eat a bunch of crow.
And, remember – the first birther, was Obama, himself:
Obama Lies – He Must Shame Even the Devil

Since “POSSE ON WARPATH” was part of the article title, it’s hard to see how I was “shifting” anything onto Arpaio and his authorized, deputized investigation.
If you think that I reflexively disagree with every criticism of President Obama you’d be wrong.
In this case, the point is simple. If volunteers want to stay with their snipe hunt, that’s great, but with the Arizona Secretary of State declaring that President Obama is eligible to be on the ballot in AZ, any continued support by Arpaio that draws on MSCO resources to follow this up is a fraudulent misuse of taxpayer resources.
DinsdaleP – Re: Your May 29, 2012 at 4:00 pm comment:
Categorizing the volunteer Arpaio Posse as a “snipe hunt,” is a snipe in itself by you.
Furthermore, you falling all over the AZ Sec. of State’s acceptance of what Hawaii has sent him, doesn’t seem to me, to be very intelligent. Hawaii didn’t verify anything except to issue something that said: “Just trust our word for it.” They still are not allowing any birth certificate original or microfilm to be inspected by outside investigators. It’s obvious that they are stonewalling and hiding something.
I don’t trust naively, Pastor, but i respect the rule of law. The Hawaiian government and the Arizona Secretary of State did what they were supposed to under the law. People who advocate limits on government overreach should be glad that the rules concerning access to private records aren’t bent or broken simply because a tiny minority of people are yelling at them telling them to do so.
If “lawman” Arpaio has evidence to bring a case of misconduct, then it’s time to put up or shut up. That’s what people who respect the law do.
All Mike Zullo is doing is trying to keep interest in his “book” going.
Which he published BEFORE Sheriff Joe made his “findings” public.
We’re talking about a really classy investigator here. There are enough reports coming out from within the posse itself to prove that the whole thing is nothing more than an ego trip for Joe.
