Democrats own it all
Today the Democrats gloat about their deal. But they might soon laugh out of the other side of their faces. Why? Because they own it all. All the unworkable policies, all the kludgy web sites, and above all, all the socialistic ideas. Republicans tried every reasonable means, and other means the mainstream media deemed unreasonable, to stop them. After today, none can claim the Republicans did not warn them or try to stop them. Not after the Democrats called them six kinds of schoolyard bully names for trying to stop them. So now the Democrats own it all. And may they have little joy of such ownership.
Did the Democrats plan the shutdown?
All are familiar with Barack Obama’s repeated tirades:
You don’t get to demand ransom for doing your jobs!
The Republicans took the entire American economy hostage!
And other such pleasantries. Nor did Obama stop when House Democrats, with RINO support, sealed the deal.
Now: were these the intemperate rants of a narcissistic personality with paranoid ideas? Keith Ablow, MD, consulting psychiatrist with the Fox News Channel Medical A-team, said as much. But if Garth Kant of WND is at all credible, those remarks were and are a ruse.
The shutdown was deliberately orchestrated by the White House, according to the former foreign editor of Newsweek and editor-in-chief of the New York Times Magazine.
Why would the White House intentionally cause such pain and havoc across the country?
It is a ploy to win votes, concluded author Ed Klein.
And all those schoolyard bully names? All Valerie Jarrett’s idea. Klein told The New York Post:
She convinced the president that a government shutdown and default offered a great opportunity to demonize the Republicans and help the Democrats win back a majority in the House of Representatives in 2014 . . . Valerie also came with the idea of using the words `hostage’, and `ransom,’ and `terrorists’ against the Republicans.
And why? To protect Obamacare, and, as they saw it, to get votes.
What will it get them?
Well, for one thing, though we hear of a February 7 deadline date, that date might be totally factitious. According to this report, in the final bill, the sky’s the limit.
…the new law signed by President Obama overnight “permits the Treasury to borrow normally through Feb. 7, and preserves Treasury’s emergency flexibility to avoid default for a period of time after that date.”
At a minimum, that means another $400 billion or $500 billion in debt for American taxpayers, as the nation has been spending roughly $3.6 or $3.7 trillion a year, and taking in only $2.5 trillion.
But such numbers were nowhere to be found.
And why not? What kind of oversight was that?
But more than that: this is what people will say of Democrats, and the Republicans In Name Only who voted with them (and forgot to set a specific debt limit):
They own it all.
Not only Obamacare, with its website on which very few people have even set up accounts. Their whole economic philosophy, that calls for spending without limit. And the highly dubious theory that the more the government spends, the better for everyone. Never mind that whatever the government spends, it takes away from citizens, subjects, lawful residents (but not unlawful ones), and investors.
And when, as is inevitable, these policies fail, the Democrats will have none but themselves to blame.
They’re not even claiming a bipartisan solution. Not really. “Democrats and responsible Republicans,” Barack Obama said today. Meaning Democrats and Republicans In Name Only.
Obama did not always think so
Obama did not always think borrowing without limit was a good thing. The last time Congress took such a vote, in 2006, he called that “a sad state of affairs.”
Why did he think that was sad? Because George W. Bush was in command, and Barack Obama wanted to spend money on things other than what Bush was spending them on. Now that he is in command, he demands the power to spend without limit.
Allen West said it best:
When I look at the fact that Obamacare is not the law of the land, it’s an edict, I see this as King Obama now President Obama who is making rules that apply to certain people that kowtow or appeal to his vision of the destruction of this great constitutional republic.
That’s right: a king.
You own it all, Your Majesty. You and all the other Democrats who form your court. So enjoy your reign. King of a debt-ridden realm.
