Escaping the world before their eyes
“Escaping the world before their eyes” is the title of an article of mine published 25 years ago in the Jerusalem Post, on 11 December 1990. The article sheds light on the myopic mentality of liberals who saw the budding of democracy in the “Arab Spring,” which prompted them to herald a “New Middle East.”
A new Middle East? Really?
The New Middle East is the title of a book by Israel’s former President Shimon Peres. The book was published in 1993, perhaps to memorialize the 1993 Oslo or Israel-PLO Agreement which Mr. Peres orchestrated when he was Israel’s Foreign Minister. Although that agreement has been a disaster for Israel – some 1,600 Jews have been murdered by PLO terrorists – Mr. Peres’ current disciple, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, still genuflects to Oslo.
Not that Netanyahu cannot SEE the bloody truth; he simply cannot or dares not SPEAK the truth. That would be tantamount to admitting publicly that he and Mr. Peres, as well as others who held the premiership of Israel since Oslo, are morally responsible for the murder of those 1,600 Jews, a crime for which no Prime Minister of Israel has ever been castigated or punished.
Know this about the PLO
It began with the failure of Israeli prime ministers to tell the truth about the PLO, which I urged Mr. Peres to publicize in a meeting we had in September 1976, a meeting arranged by my friend the late General Haim Laskov, a former Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces.
The truth about the PLO, which is known in the Vatican as well as in Washington, is this:
- The PLO is a nothing more than a consortium of far flung Muslim terrorist organizations.
- The idea of a “Palestinian” people is an Arab hoax.
- The hoax is designed to facilitate the creation of an Arab-Islamic state that would terminate the one and only Jewish state. The Vatican has taken on that sinister mission by officially recognizing the anti-Jewish state of Palestine, which is also anti-Christian (as Pope Francis has chosen to ignore).
Liars and cowards in Israel and the world
Mendacity and moral cowardice have plagued Israeli Governments – which of course may also be said of American Governments, especially the imbecilic Government of Barack Obama. These Governments have silenced the truth about the nature of Israel’s implacable and genocidal enemy: Islam. The same mendacity and cowardice, mixed with greed, animates European nations which, for years, have appeased Islamic despots committed to Israel’s destruction. Is anyone surprised that these nations, steeped in neo-paganism, are jumping up to recognize the pagan state of Palestine? We can only commiserate with Catholics embarrassed by the Vatican’s decision to join that satanic conspiracy against Israel.
This said, let’s turn to the 11 December 1990 Jerusalem Post article mentioned above.
The secularists that have ever dominated the modern State of Israel have never possessed the intellectual capacity and moral courage to confront Israel’s satanic enemy, Islam, on theological grounds. As one Muslim writer put it: “The propagandists of secularism, who leave out of account the religious factor in the Palestine problem, ignore the fact that this is the only bone of contention in the world which has persisted for thirty centuries …” “Three thousand years” hmmm! Hence, since Israel became a nation, the first based on monotheism.
Another Muslim spokesman declares: “… apart from the political conflict, there is a basic philosophical and spiritual incompatibility between the two contending [parties, i.e., of Jews versus Muslims]. Even if all political disputes were to be resolved, the two [parties] would remain, spiritually and ideologically, worlds apart – living in separate ‘universes of discourse’ which are incapable of communication or meaningful dialogue.”
Neither of these quoted authors regards territory or geographical boundaries as a decisive issue in the conflict. In fact, both statements were made before 1967. Both of the above quoted statements will be found in Prof. Y. Harkabi’s book, Arab Attitudes to Israel, written in 1967, just before the Six Day War. The English edition appeared in 1972, that is, before the Yom Kippur War. Harkabi was the mentor of Shimon Peres, the architect of the Israel-PLO Agreement of 1993 to which Benjamin Netanyahu genuflects as if it came from Sinai!
The creation and recognition of the factitious state of Palestine may well be the harbinger of the Third World War, if only because Jerusalem is the objective not only of Islam but of the Vatican.◙
