Ukraine no-fly zone – a crazy idea
It ill befits Republicans in Congress to join calls for a no-fly zone or any other escalation in Ukraine. This is not our fight.
This morning, at about 10:00 a.m. EDT, Volodymyr Zelinskyy, President of Ukraine, “virtually addressed” a joint session of Congress. This is the first time in American history that Congress had allowed such a thing. And what did he call for? He called for an action that, if the United States dares take it, will start a Third World War. To be specific, he begged the United States to set up and enforce a no-fly zone over his country. And what CNAV cannot excuse is: a large number of Republican Senators and Representatives appear willing to go along with this!
The very idea is crazy
Here you can watch Mr. Zelinskyy make his plea to Congress:
To any Member of Congress, Republican or Democrat, who would even think of signing on to a no-fly zone over Ukraine, CNAV says this. Such a course would be irresponsible, imprudent, and the product of a lack of rational thought. It would escalate the conflict in ways no sane leader would want. Indeed: if we catch one hint of such a no-fly zone going up, I call upon the People’s Convoy, now encamped in Hagerstown, Maryland and driving in circles around the Capital Beltway, to decamp and evacuate immediately. And head for the hills. Furthermore, I hope you brought your polarizing sunglasses with you – because you’re going to need them. While I’m on the subject, you’d better harden your engines against Electromagnetic Pulse.
Come to think of it, maybe a big EMP is just what they want! Obama would have his revenge – as he sailed away to Hawaii, maybe to make himself King Barack.
Dr. Steven Turley, who has been following this story at least as long as I have, said it best:
Zelinskyy is calling for World War Three, and too many Republicans in leadership are willing to let him have it!
It ill befits a Member of Congress to thus rattle sabers and risk the self-destruction of our republic. And for whom? Slick casualty videos aside, Ukraine is far less a friend than its President pretends.
Ukraine is Deep State Central and a Democratic Party showcase
Your editor can understand Democrats calling for World War Three against Russia and for Ukraine. But your editor cannot understand Republicans doing the same – unless they simply haven’t thought the matter through. So please be patient; your editor is going to walk you through it.
Darrell L. Castle – formerly active-duty Marine, Vice-Presidential candidate and lawyer – gave the Russian point of view Friday before last. To recap briefly: Reagan and Gorbachev agreed on how to dissolve the Soviet Union (and Warsaw Pact) peacefully. Boundaries that once marked the original “socialist republics” that made up the Soviet Union, would become international boundaries. But NATO was not supposed to sign any of those new countries up. Well, guess what, ladies and gents? They did. Any organization desperately tries to justify continuing on, even after its reason-for-being has died, and NATO proved no different.
NATO got away with it because Boris Yeltsin, who succeeded Gorbachev, was not only greedy but drank like a fish. Inevitably he fell from grace – and Putin took over. The popular song about him, by the electro-dance band Poyushchie vmeste, says it all. Yeltsin kept getting into trouble, and getting drunk besides. So his people threw him out of power, and wanted a strong man to take his place. In Vladimir Putin, they got him.
The Maiden Revolution in Ukraine gives the Deep State a base
With that as background, have a look at what’s been happening in Ukraine for the last eight years. In 2014, Ukraine had a freely elected President who happened to be friendly to Putin’s Russia. But that must not have sat well with the Deep State. So you got a CIA-sponsored “color revolution.” As contributor Linda Goudsmit reminded us before the Election of 2020, they have done this before. Mr. Castle, careful lawyer that he is, won’t go that far. But he sets forth evidence that implies that and only that:
The U.S. became the cheerleader of the protests constantly fanning the flames. John McCain, ranking Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee went to Kiev to openly support the protesters. Victoria Nuland, assistant Secretary of State, made many trips there during the protests and during the elections. She reportedly took cookies for the protesters.
Did you hear that name? This same Victoria Nuland recently admitted the existence of biological weapons development laboratories in Ukraine! Biological weapons development facilities, with American funding, and American direction, and American staffing. “Doctor Steve” caught her surprise – and caught Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) switching from asking a legitimate question to leading the witness.
For my money, Senator Rubio was saying,
Sh-h-h-h! Quiet! You were supposed to tell us, “No”!
And maybe he did not want the American public to suspect this.
I’d say those cookies were radioactive – with the radiation harming us, not necessarily Ukrainians.
Dissension in the ranks
Now: remember Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.)? Remember him saying Zelinskyy was no great shakes?
The Ukrainian government is incredibly corrupt and is incredibly evil and has been pushing woke ideologies.
As one could readily predict, the Mainstream Media said he was crazy. But Grady Means, writing in The Hill, gave support for that argument two days ago. Means laid out the four prongs of the “woke” attack on freedom-loving democratic republics:
- The COVID scare and Great Reset,
- Decarbonization, and that too rapidly for the necessary backup,
- Baseless accusations of racism (and sexism, homophobia, and transphobia), by which your editor means critical theory, and
- Corrosion of the rule of law.
Means probably assumes far too much about what Vladimir Putin wants. He seems to think Putin seeks destruction of the West so he can move in and occupy it. In any case, Means says:
Putin should have just pulled up a comfortable chair, eaten popcorn, and watched the West self-destruct. But, he’s an impatient guy — a would-be “man of history.” Impulsively, he has, in a single stroke, managed to reverse the Western woke political tidal wave and set the stage for destroying his own energy-based economy.
Not so fast
What Putin actually set the stage for, was telling his modern-day boyars to quit trying to make money from international trade, and start acting like true Russian patriots and supporting an independent, self-sufficient Russia. Impulsive? Oh, no. Putin knows exactly what he’s doing.
Nor did he act without provocation. Your editor expects him to recover certain artifacts, the nature of which your editor must leave it to Putin himself to reveal. Those artifacts, are the immediate provocation. Perhaps they consist of documentary evidence that, not only was the Deep State running biological weapons development laboratories in Ukraine, but that SARS-CoV-2 was one of the weapons! Why the Deep State sourced this out to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, we might never know. But if Putin caught one hint that they were working on something even nastier, to release against his country, that alone would constitute sufficient provocation and casus belli.
Thanks for the warning
In any event, those of us who love our freedom ought to thank him. He’s willing to take a lot of flak in his country, while it works out the painful withdrawal from the addiction of international trade – on the terms of the Western Banking Cartel – and a transition to self-sufficiency and sound money. At the same time he forces us to take a look at ourselves and our institutions. All four points now come under a scrutiny they haven’t endured before and won’t withstand.
Concerning decarbonization, even Elon Musk himself retreated from it.
He knows – and is not afraid to say – that we are not ready for that carbonless future. It was never any part of his plans to get any government to cut off the carbon supply willy-nilly. Not, at least, until he had his factories in place to build the Big Batteries and the solar panels and roof tiles we would need to make such a future actually work.
As for the rest, our contributors have weighed in on all of it. CNAV has a search engine. Any visitor can use it.
Spare me your threats about treason!
Separately, we hear from leftist contributors – and RINO politicians – that those of us telling our war-fevered friends to take two aspirin and call us after a good night’s rest, are guilty of treason. What is treason? It means making war against your country or sticking with its enemies. But that implies that Russia is the natural enemy of America and Ukraine the natural friend.
How odd, that. Time was when the common leftist argument – which your editor heard at Yale – was that “the Russians aren’t ten feet tall.” Walter Duranty famously covered up Josef Stalin’s famine – in Ukraine, too. And after Senator Joseph McCarthy came a cropper, along with General Walker, all you got out of Hollywood were movies suggesting that Russia, while dangerous to provoke, did not have imperial designs. You know the titles:
- Fail-Safe
- Seven Days in May
- Dr. Strangelove
Not to mention the James Bond titles, which had Bond fighting against megalomaniacal but self-centered and self-promoting actors.
So what changed?
Russia changed, of course. The Soviet Union died. And the Woke Crowd, and their Deep State masters, know this. That’s why they laid on the Russia Hoax against Donald J. Trump.
Vladimir Putin knows it, too. That’s why he declared George Soros persona non grata in Russia. And, when he thought Hillary Clinton might win election, he canceled an overseas junket, came home, and ordered his people to arm themselves. Dictators don’t do that. Freedom-loving leaders do.
Conclusion: Ukraine is not our fight
All of which to say: the Ukraine affair is not our fight. For that matter, Ukraine turns out not to be our friend. Not when they hosted biological weapons development laboratories, one of which might have yielded up the prototype for SARS-CoV-2.
The American people do have a fight on their hands, all right. It is a fight against misguided war sentiment, which plays into the hands of latter-day William Randolph Hearsts. To say nothing of the same bankers who debased our currency and then arranged to addict the rest of the world to a currency that is not worth the paper it’s printed on.
A no-fly zone, whether or not it leads to “boots on the ground” in Ukraine, would be a disaster. Not only that, but it would represent an intervention on the wrong side. Contrary to every instinct that certain actors have programmed into the American psyche, we should not make an enemy of Russia or Vladimir Putin. A careful examination of his domestic program will show that he wants the same thing sober-minded, responsible freedom-loving people want.
And the only way for us to get it, is with our vote. Starting with this premise: vote against war, or anyone now urging it.
