Karine Jean-Pierre declares self historic figure
Karine Jean-Pierre declared herself an historic figure in an historic administration in a recent interview, but neglected to say why.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre wants the world to consider her an historic figure in an historic administration.
Karine Jean-Pierre talks about history
Karine Jean-Pierre made that statement in an interview on The Grio, a network devoted to Black issues and celebrities. This story comes from The Post Millennial, as The Grio doesn’t seem to have a story about her appearance there. (The Grio has covered her many times before.)
“A year in this role, there’s been a couple of things that has made me incredibly proud,” she said. She further said, “This is a historic administration. I’m a historic figure and I certainly walk in history every day. But this is also a historic making administration because of this president.”
Apparently she gave no details about what makes her an historical figure. But shortly after she succeeded her boss Jen Psaki in her role, The Grio said she “ma[d]e history as [the] first Black, openly LGBTQ+ White House press secretary.” Last fall she told her “coming-out story” in a White House press briefing, again according to The Post Millennial.
Similarly, she was short on details on what makes the Biden administration “historic.” She compared President Biden to Martin Luther King, Jr., and Presidents Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, and John Adams. But apparently she never said why.
Jack Posobiec, senior editor of Human Events, tweeted a link to the Post Millennial story this morning.
Reaction
The reaction was almost uniformly negative. One influencer picked up on her history of refusing to answer difficult questions.
Several found her self-characterization narcissistic, some saying it was typical of the political left.
Still others questioned her qualifications:
And at least one user questioned the company she kept – said company being many in the Biden administration.
