DeSantis has falling-out in Iowa

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) is planning to “meet and greet” voters in bars in Iowa this afternoon. This while Gov. Kim Reynolds (R-Iowa) will host a rally at the Iowa Fairgrounds for “real women” activist Riley Gaines. An obvious question arises: why isn’t Gov. DeSantis standing alongside Gov. Reynolds?

DeSantis will frequent the bars…

Gov. DeSantis appeared this morning on the Today show in Iowa, according to WHO-TV (Channel 13, NBC, DesMoines). He discussed the American response to the Fourth Arab-Israeli War with WHO-TV’s Zach Fisher. (That war, and the conflicting moral high-ground claims of the two sides, has divided Democrats and Republicans both.)

The station then said the Florida governor would finish his day in Council Bluffs, Iowa. But the station did not mention the plans Gov. Reynolds has for a rally that same day.

Allegedly Gov. DeSantis will buy millions of dollars in advertising in Iowa, and move many campaign workers there. NBC News detailed his spending plans and also suggested that the governor raised $1 million recently. The news network acknowledged that, at least until recently, the DeSantis campaign has been running out of money and time. That still might be the case, because NBC suggested DeSantis was spending most of his reserves in Iowa.

But while the Florida governor will be in Council Bluffs, the Iowa governor will be hosting the annual Harvest Festival. She has asked Riley Gaines, the activist for keeping men out of women’s sports, to join her. That plan had been set on September 19, according to The Iowa Capital Dispatch.

Laura Loomer, today, confirmed that Reynolds’ and Gaines’ plans were still on. She also said DeSantis will be moving through bars in Council Bluffs – two hours away from the Harvest Festival.

Second thoughts

And maybe Riley Gaines doesn’t want to share a stage with him. She had endorsed the Florida governor back in June, but might now be having second thoughts.
