Once again we see the results of a human being capable of monstrous evil.

Monstrous evil brought some together…

The killing of nine people worshiping in God’s house goes way beyond race. Any person capable of walking into a church, sitting for an hour watching congregants pray, and then killing them had to have given his heart to Satan. He is a prime example of what happens in a secular humanist society that seeks to eradicate God.

Unlike previous incidents where blacks were killed by a white, this one has brought all races together. Authorities in South Carolina, from Governor Haley on down, have shown compassion, grief as well as love for victims, their families and friends. Americans have joined hands crying and praying together.

But, some news reporters wondered out loud when the hate would kick in. So far the usual purveyors of hate, division and racism haven’t arrived on the scene. Let’s hope they stay away and we don’t see the hate some seem to miss. Without them the true attribute of God’s children; love, not hate, will have a chance to prevail.

…and drove some apart

Unfortunately, we have also seen those with an agenda seize the moment to continue their attack on the 2nd Amendment. It was Rahm Emanuel, while White House Chief of Staff, who famously said, “You never want a crisis to go to waste.”

What is lost in the reporting so far is the reason such acts of evil can exist in our nation. It is a fact secular humanists have succeeded in pushing God out of our society. That didn’t happen overnight. It took decades to convert a Judeo/Christian nation into a secular humanist nation.

We, the children of God, allowed it to happen. We keep reelecting politicians who changed Freedom of Religion into Freedom From Religion. We bought into the lie that our founders wanted to keep religion out of the public arena. Church leaders either didn’t see this happening, or, for whatever reason, would not confront it.

When we tell God he’s not welcome we lose His protection. It’s time for all of us who want God back in our society to come together. It’s time to repent, ask His forgiveness and beg His mercy on us. We can start by praying in the privacy of our homes; then bring those prayers to our churches and synagogues; then bring those houses of worship together so we can pray as a nation.

It’ll never happen? Too big a job? If you feel that way, remember, nothing is too big for God.

To quote Joshua when the Israelites faced a dire time in their history, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
