Netanyahu, do your duty!

Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel--and a man without a theory. (Has he forgotten his earlier protest against empty reciprocity with the PA?) A secular man cannot understand the real Jewish theory--the Torah. Is he being a little too (Vichy) French for his country's safety? Maybe not. He took a stand against illegal immigration recently.

Headline, Jerusalem Post, October 20, 2015, concerning Arab violence in Jerusalem and elsewhere in Israel:  “Netanyahu to Ban: Abbas has joined ISIS and Hamas.”

Headline, Jerusalem Post, October 21, 2015, concerning Arab violence in Jerusalem and elsewhere in Israel:  “Netanyahu to Kerry: If world wants to help,  hold Abbas to account for his incitement.”

Netanyahu, this is your job, not theirs!

This is vintage Bibi. It is he not Ban (nor Kerry, either) that was elected Israel’s Prime Minister. It is he not Ban that is responsible for the security of Jews in Israel.

It is he, not the pro-Palestinian UN (nor the feckless United States Department of State), that is responsible for Israel’s safety.

The buck stops at the door of Mr. Netanyahu. He alone, not the dilatory and despicable UN (nor the equally dilatory State Department),  that can  take prompt action to curtail the violence of the PLO-Palestinian Authority, violence that also violates the Oslo Agreement of September 1993, as well as the Wye Memorandum of October 1998.

Mr. Netanyahu co-signed the Wye Memorandum with Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority. The Memorandum contains several joint “security arrangements.” Mr. Netanyahu is required to report any Palestinian violations of those security arrangements to the United States, the guarantor of the Wye Memorandum. To the best of my knowledge, he has not done so. This may be regarded as a dereliction of duty.

The present writer therefore proposes that

  1. the Knesset hold an emergency session and request of Mr, Netanyahu an explanation for his not fulfilling the security arrangements of the Wye Memorandum; and
  2. the Prime Minister inform U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry of Palestinian violations of said security arrangements, and request that remedial action be taken by the Government of the United States.
